Apple Sues Former iOS Tech Over Apple Vision Pro Leaks

Someone was caught sharing Apple Vision Pro secrets.

The source of its leaks Apple Vision Pro Apple seems to have found it. The American company filed a lawsuit against its former employee Andrew Audewho appear to have shared classified material with journalists and employees of rival companies for VisionOS. According to the lawsuit filed 10 days ago, Aude shared information about Apple’s strategy, the headset’s features, as well as information he claims he leaked to cause trouble (after disagreeing with management decisions).

In fact, one of the messages surfaced in court, with Aude speaking on the Signal app and relaying information to a Wall Street Journal reporter who goes by the nickname “Homeboy.” It appears that he has spoken to this particular one over 1400 times through the application, while he had sent over 10,000 text messages to another journalist from The Information, while also traveling to a remote area to meet him in person.

Aude joined Apple in 2016 as an iOS engineer, focusing on improving battery performance on the company’s devices. His position gave him access to classified information and to products that had not yet been released. The leaks were discovered at the end of 2023, when he denied the accusations and on the first occasion of internal meetings he went to the toilet and tried to delete a significant amount of evidence from his device.

On December 12, he finally admitted under pressure to the leak, and three days later he was fired.
