What a turn by Kamil Stoch. A big change for the Polish champion. “I had this plan”

After competing in Willingen in early February World Cup in ski jumping, he moved to distant – from the perspective of Europe – places, reaching Lake Placid in the US and Sapporo in Japan. Now, however, the players have returned to the “Old Continent” – specifically to Oberstdorf.

The return to Europe was beneficial for Kamil Stoch, who did very well in the first individual competition and thanks to the excellent second series finished the competition in twelfth place. The Pole was very happy already on the landing, and then the smile never left his face when he sat in the place for the competition leader.

No wonder Stoch was in a great mood, which was felt even by… the Eurosport journalist conducting the interview.

Change for Kamil Stoch. Finally, our master’s smile

In Sapporo, where Stoch’s form was slowly improving, the Pole was not particularly satisfied. This was felt by, among others, a Eurosport reporter, who had the opportunity to talk to the jumper for two days. And it wasn’t always a 100% pleasant task.

In Oberstdorf it was completely different. Kacper Merk started the conversation with Stoch with Eurosport’s report by saying that it was very good to finally see him smiling so much. Kamil Stoch. Our master quickly responded in a similar tone.

“Thank you. It’s good to see you, Kacper,” said the smiling jumper.

The athlete from Ząb was rarely in such a good mood this season, but finally he made a jump that he was satisfied with, took a place just behind the top “10”, and above all, he “flew” over 200 meters, which, as he admitted, was his goal. .

“That’s what flights are all about”

My goal for today was to fly above 200 meters, and when I jumped over 220 meters, to quote my friend Stefan Hula, I was overjoyed

~ Stoch said in an interview with Eurosport.

“That’s what flights are all about – enjoying being in the air as long as possible,” added the Polish representative.

However, he added that he still sees some minor shortcomings in his attempts. “It was 90% of what I was supposed to do. The third jump was successful, there was energy, but I held the jump a bit,” Stoch explained.
