We had to wait a very long time for the official schedule of the National Speedway League. We already know that the games will start on March 30. At the very beginning, fans will watch the hit between Start Gniezno and Unia Tarnów. Many experts see the team from Małopolska as the favorite to advance. The activists also presented a play-off system, which not everyone liked.

We are still waiting for the final decision of the License Team regarding the club from Krakow. If everything goes according to plan, we will see seven teams in the lowest league. The fans did not like the fact that seven teams would take part in the league and six of them in the play-offs. If there is no positive news from Krakow, all teams will participate in the play-offs.

– For many years, we have heard signals that some teams end their season very quickly and something should be done about it, come up with a way to extend the competition. By including six teams in the playoffs, two teams will have two more games, which will allow them to extend their season by a few weeks. It is also important that thanks to this move, the final round in all leagues will be held on the same terms – says Dariusz Cieślak in polskizuzel.pl.

The quarterfinal matches will be held under the same rules as in the PGE Ekstraliga and Metalkas 2. Ekstraliga. The winner of the regular round will play against the sixth team, the second place against the fifth and the third against the fourth. It is obvious that the winners of the two legs will play in the semi-finals. One place will be filled by the best of the losers, an example from the higher leagues. Then the winners of both semi-finals will meet in the grand final. The winner will advance to the 2nd Ekstraliga

– Someone may say that the regular round does not matter since six of the seven teams will enter the play-offs. However, in these most important matches, who performed in the regular round will be of great importance. It may even decide about winning the league – Cieślak concludes.
