Mendiliber: “We could have won, the opponents were more precise” (vid)

Jose Luis Medilibar spoke in his televised comments about the opportunities Olympiacos had in their 1-0 defeat against AEK.

The Spanish coach for Olympiakos after 1-0 in AEK – Olympiacos (at OPAP Arena) made his statements on COSMOTE TV. Mediliber said about:

What the match was decided: “Today we had many chances. We could have won. In both halves we had clear phases for goals, the opponents’ goalkeeper was very effective and they were more precise in their efforts. We can congratulate both the opponent and ourselves for the performance.”

What it contains: “What remains is the result, but we were better with more chances, but when you don’t score, it can happen. Maybe you concede a goal and then you have to equalize. Unfortunately, we didn’t achieve that either. We won’t stop here. We have many games and we will continue our efforts.”

Whether there will be any redefinition of targets due to Europe: “At the moment we are only thinking about Wednesday’s league game, which we definitely want to win. We still have 10 days until our first European game and until then we are only thinking about the championship”.

At the press conference, the experienced technician said:

– How can a coach feel when the opposing team has a top goalkeeper and in the end one’s own team leaves the pitch defeated?
That is the law of football. When you don’t score, you risk conceding a goal from the one chance your opponent can give. Although we had many chances, we didn’t score, but what remains in the end is the goal. When you don’t score, you can unfortunately go down defeated. That’s football and that’s what happens. What we want is to congratulate the opponent for the victory, but to congratulate our footballers for the game and the effort they have made.
