There won’t be enough room for one gem. Should they think about a transfer?

On Monday, the team from Grudziądz flew to the training camp in Lloret de Mar, Spain. All the players appeared, headed by the biggest stars Jason Doyle and Max Fricke. This time, president Marcin Murawski built a senior formation with only five players (a year ago it numbered seven). The lack of a place in the squad will be good for the team. However, it will be more interesting during training and sparring in the junior formation. There are some interesting juniors there.

The following people will compete for places number 6/7: Kacper Łobodziński, Kevin Małkiewicz and Jan Przanowski. Of course, the weakest of the three can be fielded under eight, but going to a presentation or going to one race halfway through the competition is not conducive to development. For this reason, Wiktor Rafalski was loaned to Texom Stal Rzeszów during last year’s competition (after the season, Stal made a final transfer).

Slag. GKM Grudziądz and the surplus of juniors

The most experienced of this group is Łobodziński. Just two years ago, it seemed that the player from Bydgoszcz was standing still. However, he made progress in the 2023 season, especially after purchasing an engine from Nicki Pedersen. He had several great races, he won in Grudziądz, for example against Robert Lambert. With such starts, he has proven that it is worth betting on him because he is still developing. He will be a junior until 2025.

However, his two younger colleagues, Małkiewicz and Przanowski, are definitely more advanced. They are both born in 2007, but greater luck last year had Małkiewicz’s birthday in August. After the end of the season by GKM, he was loaned to Sparta Wrocław and shined during the semi-final against Apator Toruń. Already in his debut in the match against Unia Leszno, he overcame Bartosz Smektała, which only confirmed that the rumors about his great talent are not exaggerated.

There are now voices from Grudziądz about Przanowski’s skills. He celebrated his 16th birthday in October, so until now he had to content himself only with appearances in youth competitions, in which he had a few flashes. Bread can also be made from this flour. GKM fans may be rubbing their eyes in amazement. They used to complain week after week about the results of players such as Mike Trzensiok, Dawid Wawrzyniak and Kamil Wieczorek. Of course, there were even more juniors who performed below expectations in Grudziądz.

One junior will be unhappy

At GKM they train wisely, so even No one would think of putting pressure on under-17-year-olds. However, they themselves have ambitions and have been training to play in the league since April. One of the three (Łobodziński, Małkiewicz, Przanowski) will be dissatisfied when his name is missing from the junior positions in the announced squad for the PGE Ekstraliga match.

GKM’s youth players can make a difference in the fight for relegation. Grudziądz are perceived as favorites for relegation, and with good winds, teams from Leszno and Zielona Góra are within their reach.
