Tajner about Thurnbichler’s future. “It’s absolutely not that time yet”

We haven’t seen such poor results of Polish jumpers for over 20 years. Why are the Reds and Whites performing below expectations this season?

“I think nothing terrible has happened. (…) Of course, I am not in constant contact with this group at the moment, but I am observing closely and I must say that the players entered this season exhausted. It was visible in the reflection at the threshold of the hill, these legs ‘walked’ slower, ‘this leg doesn’t pass’, as the players say, and this causes technical errors,” admitted Tajner in a Morning conversation on RMF FM.

The players perform below expectations, but this is not a coincidence, because they take places adequate to what they present.

“We still have two months of the season. (…) The situation is already starting to change, but it is not a problem that only affects us. Last year, the Germans wanted to dismiss Horngacher because they also had a weaker season,” said former coach Adam Małysz, who took over from him as president of PZN.

Tajner is against sudden moves in Thurnbichler’s case.

I think we have a very good coach. I see him as a ‘third generation’ coach. (…) I absolutely think that this is not the time to think about firing or changing the coach yet

Ski jumping. Apoloniusz Tajner believes that we will enjoy our successes

Another issue is the age of our leading jumpers. Żyła is 37 years old, Kamil Stoch will finish the same amount in May, and a Dawid Kubacki in March 34. Their successors are not visible yet.

“We can’t see them yet, but they are there. This is the direct support at this level of competition Paweł Wasek, Aleksander Zniszczoł Whether Andrzej Stękała. Jan Habdas is also already appearing. We don’t have a strong, strong group, but we have players who are starting to get into the top ten, apart from our top three,” said the former president of PZN in RMF FM’s Morning Talk.

“I think we will still enjoy the successes of our jumpers it’s not just the top three. (…) Children are still willing, but the ‘fame’ associated with Stoch, Kubacki and Żyła keeps attracting young people to ski jumping,” he added.

This weekend we will have two World Cup competitions in Willingen. Saturday’s will start at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday’s at 4:10 p.m.
